Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE COWIE Group of Sunderland is in the market for "small to medium coach operations" which would be compatible with its present activities.

These include London-based Grey Green Coaches and World Wide Coaches, and Dix Travel of Dagenham, Essex.

The group's coach and travel division last year turned in a profit of £308,000, compared with a loss of £253,000 in the previous year. Chairman Tom Cowie, reports "a vastly improved operational performance." Even so, the group is trying to make tour operations more profitable.

WATSONS Tours and Travel, of Dundee, has been taken over by Cotter Tours, of Glasgow.

The new owner said it intends to invest up to Elm expanding the Dundee operation and expects to create new jobs in the process, but will keep Watson's name.

Cotter managing director Tom Wilson said the new investment programme would include acquiring new coaches which would be based in Dundee and upgrading the entire fleet.
