• The need for an inquiry into the Midland Red Omnibus Company is to bc urged on the Government by Mr Leslie Huckfield, Labour MP for Nuneaton, in a Commons adjournment debate next Monday.
Mr Huckfield told CM that his criticism of the company would be based oiiThis conviction that the recent fares increases were not justified by wage rises.
"I think a great deal of the problem has been due to plain bad management," he
said. think there has been a complete failure on the part of Midland Red either to retain the confidence of the travelling public or to go out and get new traffic."
