Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ever-we-are-this-week giant Wincanton. The Somerset firm has just sent us a yuletide press release telling us how it is "delivering Christmas" (We thought that was what Father Christmas did, but perhaps we're wrong).

Anyway, the missive goes on to explain how an efficient supply chain can be the difference between decking the halls with consumer cash and an empty profit stocking for retailers at this time of year. But what tickled us was the line: "An efficient supply chain can be the difference between success and failure for the retailer, as we have seen in recent examples from the press. If warehousing and distribution fail, consumer demand cannot be met and the empty shelves lead to falling profits."

Backfire reckons this might be a thinly disguised reference to the problems that its competitors may have experienced... bah humbug, eh?
