Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A radio-based tracking network just launched in the UK could help protect employees and equipment by allowing them to be tracked inside buildings.

QuikTrak Networks has already established network coverage within the M25 area; it will be rolling out its network in several UK cities next year, says business development director Andy Parritt with nationwide coverage by the end of 2004.

QuikTrak will sell airtime on the network to service providers, and manufactures personal and vehicle-mounted transponder units to work with it.

The ability to track within buildings would make life harder for thieves who attempt to evade detection by hiding stolen vehicles under cover—an RF transponder-based vehicle tracking network is also harder to disable than GPS/GSM-based systems. "The use of spread spectrum radio frequency technology means any tracked signal will be received by multiple sites," ParrItt explains.
