Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Trailer rental group CTR is to spend £55m updating its vehicles despite reduced profits, partly due to its ageing fleet.

The heavily indebted firm, formerly known as Tiphook, announced the renewal programme after reporting a 16% fall in turnover for the six months to the end of October. Profits fell by almost two thirds to £4m over the same period.

The company, which com

pleted its much heralded financial restructuring in July, blames the poor results on the strengthening of the pound and heavy undercutting in the UK trailer market.

However, CTR says that preChristmas demand has pushed up UK utilisation rates to record levels, allowing chief executive Ian Clubb to comment that he now views the future with "cautious optimism".
