NEWLY FORMED retailers' asrciation has succeeded in rsuading Gateshead council put on a free shopper's bus, Hawing the opening of the .ne and Wear Metro.
Retailers formed themselves to the Gateshead Chamber of ade in an effort to win back yindling business and claimed at Newcastle was attracting ore shoppers to its prestige El)n Square complex.

The free round-trip picks up loppers from stops outside the Iwn centre, and the Metro sta)n, and drops them in the High treet. It circles the town every ) minutes.
Although the traders have aen given the bus only until hristmas, they are now hoping get it extended into the New ear.
