• TNT Express (UK) has been ordered to pay driver Malcolm Green £150 compensation after making him redundant without prior consultation. Although a Birmingham Industrial Tribunal accepted consultation would have made no difference, they felt Green should be compensated for "loss of his statutory rights".
£2,585 overweight
• Exceeding the permitted gr oss weight and overloading the second axle cost Liverpool owner-driver Paul Carberry 0,585 in fines and costs at Stafford magistrates.
Five years out • The licence for 10 vehicles and five trailers held by Collingbourne Contractors (Cwmbran) was revoked by South Wales DTC Gerrard Sullivan after he heard the company had gone into receivership. He also disqualified the company from holding a licence for five years.

• The two-vehicle national licence held by John Callister, trading as JC Transport, of Liverpool, has been suspended by North Western TC Martin Albu.
