Leyland's Semi-Automatic gearbox has been proved in many years operation in P.S.V.'s throughout the world. Now Leyland have combined it with split transmission to give in forward speeds. This new gearbox will be fitted to Leyland heavy duty goods vehicles. Advantages ? Less wear and tear on transmission and final drive ... the fluid non-slip lock-up clutch normally has a much greater life potential than a conventional clutch, which again reduces maintenance costs. Brakes, universals, differentials last longer. The vehicle spends less time in the workshop. On the road it makes more efficient use of engine power and fuel.
