THE formation of A. E. Booty (Transport), Ltd. (announced in Tire Commercial Motor last week), heralds a new phase in goods transport in Oxford, for the company reunites a business which was divided by nationalization.
The company announced last week that they intended to establish themselves as the principal clearing house in the city.
Mr. A. E. Booty, chairman of the new company, designed a car transporter in association with Austin.
When the original business was acquired, a new concern, Messrs. Booty and Howe, was established to operate car transporters. Mr. Booty holds a special A licence for six vehicles.

• SO, far this year, British operators have placed orders Worth more than £1-1m. for Leyland Titan double-deck buses. To meet the demand, deliveries to the home market in the past 12 months have been increased by 15 per cent. Some 30 operators are concerned.
Sheffield Corporation have ordered another 40 8-ft.-wide Titans. They will have Roe 'full-fronted bodies.
PICKFORDS' SERVICE IMPROVED . .
THE Liverpool branch of Pickfords Heavy Haulage Service has improved its fteilities by moving from Speke Hall Road to larger premises at 197 Great Howard Street, Liverpool, 5. The new depot is provided with mobile cranes with a capacity, of up to 20 tons,. and open storage close to the docks is available for heavy machinery.
