Operators are responsible for keeping safety inspection sheets, drivers’ defect reports and R&M records for at least 15 months, so they must ensure all paperwork is returned from their maintenance provider. Vosa is amenable to electronic service records too, including those that can be accessed online, provided they contain the same information as written records and are tamper-proof. Vosa wants to see an audit trail, so a driver’s defect report should be followed by evidence of workshop attention and repair.
