ON WEDNESDAY 4 April the M62 was in a state: a trip from our depot in Wakefield to Dukinfield, which usually takes one hour and 10 minutes, took four hours.
When I dropped down off Windy Hill, the snow had disappeared. Five drops around Manchester, and picking up a full load later to return to Wakefield, the snow was gone. The nice thing was the M62 was almost empty through the 30km of roadworks we have to endure until winter 2013.
