While taking a 7.5-tonner for a spin is not the biggest challenge in the commercial vehicle world, it gives an insight into the philosophy of driving an LGV.
An extra degree of awareness is necessary that isn't required for lighter vehicles-elements such as reading traffic flow and judging speeds are paramount if you want to keep speed up and aid fuel consumption.
Being highly attentive to what is happening around you is also a necessity.
These skills will no doubt come with experience. However with the LGV Cat C test pencilled in for next month, the sooner they are learnt the better I'll get back to you.
