Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Initially developed to minimise damage to tipper bodies, and as a protective strip to minimise the damage inflicted by reversing vehicles on load ing banks, the all-rubber fenders marketed by R E Tyre and Rubber Co Ltd are now available in two versions.

The one metre long 70mm x 75nun sections have a domed top face and originally incorporated a series of four countersunk fixing holes but now are also supplied in plain lengths so that users can cut to length and drill the holes where needed.

Applications include vehicle loading areas and protection of walls and factory structures against damage from forktrucks. In these cases the fenders can absorb the shock of a fork-truck driving at full speed into them without damage to the structure, the truck or the fender, say the company.
