NYK Logistics has signed a new five-year contract with the Virgin Media Group's TV retailer company, sit-up channels. NYK will continue to provide shipping, freight management, order picking and dispatches for sit-up, which owns a selection of home shopping channels.
Logistics management group Freightex has opened an office in Tipton, West Midlands. Mark Silvester from logistics firm Rhenus will manage the operation, which will also support Freightex's Dover and London offices.
Transport minister Rosie Winterton has asked motorists and highway authorities to participate in a review of British road signs, and discuss ideas such as new traffic sign technologies. The first meeting of the traffic signs policy review steering group is expected in October. Winterton states: "Road conditions have changed dramatically over the years — and road signs need to keep pace."
