Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ihe B1OM is now powered by Ivo's new more fuel efficient • ange of engines. The stenrd version has the THD100EC gine rated to produce 180kW I5bhp) at 2,200rpm and the Impco 1 0 0 version, the 11301 00ED, now produces 3kW(276bhp) at 2,200rpm. Volvo claims that the new engines have cleaner exhaust emissions which are well below the current American Federal requirements. Compared with the engine it replaces, Volvo says hydrocarbon emissions have been cut by half.

The new engines also feature better torque back-up to reduce the number of gear changes needed on a journey. Idling torque is 35 per cent better than that of the previous engine and torque rise has been more than doubled.

Fuel consumption improvements have been achieved by improvements to the cylinder heads, pistons, injection pump and injectors and the introduction of a new turbo unit. A tachometer fitted to the models features a green economy sector covering the 1300/1800 peak torque range.

Other improvements include the introduction of a new exhaust system with the silencer mounted entirely inside the frame longitudinally and the exhaust pipe run in the form of an S behind the engine.

This new system allows improved luggage capacity or the fitting of a centre door.

To match the increase in torque from the engines, new gear ratios have been introduced and the more powerful engine option features the up-rated ZF S6.90 six-speed gearbox with a splitter option. An improved gear linkage and a straight gearlever are also introduced.

The 810M coach chassis will be available in standard, Tempo 100 and Tempo 100 GT versions, with the latter featuring GV90 splitter box and Thelma retarder as standard.
