Tees last week, members of the Tees-side subarea of the Road Haulage Association agreed to form their own long-distance hauliers group. The intention is to foster co-operation between members engaged on trunk work, to consider and recommend reasonable rates and to draft a code of conduct,
It was agreed to ask the sub-area chair man, Mr. F. Brown, of Middlesbrough Transport and Engineering Co. Ltd., to be the new group's chairman. The subarea secretary, Mr. S. Boughey, of Miller and Gordon Ltd., will be hon. secretary of the group. Operators hauling traffic out of Tees-side who are interested in joining the group are asked to contact Mr. Boughey of this company at Haverton Hill Road, Steekton.
