Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The United Road Transport Union has won recognition at its second major haulage company in the space of a month.

Canute Haulage drivers based in Worksop, Notts and Magor, South Wales on its contract with high-street retailer Wilkinson voted 94% in favour of URTU representation.

This follows URTU's landmark recognition victory at Cheshire haulier James Irlam & Sons last month (CM 13-20 Sept).

WM regional officer Mel Thornton says: We are delighted that drivers at Canute Haulage have voted for URTU recognition. It has been a great team effort to achieve the result and would not have been possible without the hard work of our shop steward and his colleagues."

Thornton adds that the company has not opposed recognition; he hopes that they will be able to discuss an agreement over the next couple of weeks.
