Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Police have issued a fresh appeal for information this week after a coroner recorded an open verdict on a man who was killed by a hit-and-run truck.

Inspector Glyn Timmins of Warwickshire Constabulary said the driver responsible for the death of 43-year-old Ronald Cobbledick was still being sought.

Cobbledick had been riding his Piaggio scooter on the M40 near Tamworth in Arden when he was struck by a lorry from behind shortly after 06:00hrs on 30 October last year. The driver stopped to prop up the bike against a crash barrier before continuing on his way.

The IT worker, whose body was left sprawled on the carriageway following the crash. was struck by a number of other vehicles. He subsequently died of multiple injuries.

Inspector Timmins, who led the investigation, told CM after the last week's inquest at Kenilworth that Cobbledick had died in "truly horrific circumstances".

Timmins added: "I would draw your attention to what Mr Cobbledick's widow said that her husband did not deserve to die like an animal at the side of the road. As long as this case remains open we

will be following any lead." A spokesman says that police are anxious to speak to the driver of a Volvo FL? or ELIO artic with a red or blue cab seen on CCTV cameras travelling behind Cobbledick. Cunta;I: Police incident room, 01926 415257; Crimestoppers, 0900 500500.
