AST week, Mr. Harold Watkinson. Minister of Transport, cut the first turf to allow work to begin on the new £500.000 Wetherby by-pass on the Great North Road.
The project, which includes the construction of two bridges, will take about tWo years to complete. The by-pass will extend from the junction of the Great North Road with the LeedsWetherby Road to Deighton Bar at the junction of Al with the Knaresborough Road.
