Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The B. and E. Gigantip Apparatus which Raises the Body Before Lifting the Front End to Discharge the, Load AN elevating and tipping gear for discharging loads over fences or on top of material already dumped is an outstanding item of the range of new products to be made for 1936 by Tiromilow and Edwards, Ltd., Bolton. The new apparatus is named the Gigantip and it will be exhibited next month at Olympia fitted to a Leyland TSC/ 10 6-ton 13-ft. 6-in.-wheelbase petrol-enginecl chassis, which will also have a cab built by the same coneern.

The tipping and elevating mechanism incorporates a sub-frame which is attached to the chassis by swivel links. Special hydraulic rams are used to elevate this sub-frame and the body to a suitable height, after which the ram action is transferred to tipping in the normal way. This double operation, we are informed, occupies from 1 minute to l minute, according to the circumstances.

The apparatus would appear specially useful when it is necessary to transfer loads to other lorries or to rail wagons. When not required for elevating, the sub-frame can be locked in the down position and the vehicle worked as an orthodox end-tipper. It will be on view at the Show, equipped with a 6i-cubic yard end-tipping body.

Inclusion of the device has made little difference to the practical dimensions and, tested under a standard colliery hopper, the Vehicle carried away a full load.

Another new B. and E. feature to be displayed at the Show will be a redesigned pump, a description of which will appear in an early issue of The Commercial Motor.
