The Freight Transport Association's autumn and winter roadshows continue with a string of one-day seminars for transport managers. They're designed to help operators comply with key legislation, some of which is in place with more to come into force next year.
Naturally, a great deal of attention will be paid to the Working Time Directive and what the recently published draft regulations mean for your business. The FTA has agreed to offer CM readers the same rate as FTA members. This saves £61 for the first ticket you book and 170 for each subsequent ticket.
These are the rates: Members and CM readers • £299 (ex-VAT) each for the first ticket • £250 each for the second and subsequent tickets Non-members would normally pay • £360 (ex-VAT) each for the first ticket 0E320 each for the second and subsequent tickets Prices include coffee/tea and lunch.
In addition, anyone who wants a one-to-one discussion can book a half-hour surgery with an FTA expert after the main seminar finishes at 4.30pm, These sessions cost £75 (ex-VAT) and are offered on a first-come-first-served basis. They run at 5pm, 5.30pm and 6pm. If you have issues specific to your company on the Working Time Directive this is an ideal opportunity to air them.
The cost of the surgery is refundable if you book an FTA audit or training course related to the Working Time Directive before 31 December 2004.
So what will you get for your money? The FTA's tried and tested format, presented by experts using state-of-the-art technology, is intended to be more informative and practical than ever before.
The seminars will focus on critical compliance issues for 2005,To make life easier for busy transport professionals they are being held at sites across the country, concluding in Durham on 8 December.
One session will focus on the 50 things your drivers need to know for safe and legal operation, including record keeping on working time and security measures, This will also be a good opportunity to meet other transport managers and operators who are facing the same problems as your own organisation and may have valuable tips to pass on about meeting the challenges of staying legal in an industry where legislation is rapidly changing, •
