Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The Vehicle Inspedorateis latest list of vehicle recalls includes:

• Foden 2000, 3000 and 4000 Series built in April 1991 with vehicle ;dent numbers between 25000250127, 300300-300427 and 404600-405444 could have problems with push-in brake connectors.

• New Cargos built between June 1991 and July 1992 (ident nos 1013594) could suffer from inadvertent operation of the air-suspended driver's seat. Affected vehicles should Have the control system on the seat changed.

• Leyland Dal's Constructor 8, FAD 80 and 526 fitted with Rockwell drive axles may experience failure of the load sensing valve bracket. The vehicles, built between January 1985 and November 1992 with ident numbers between AF71675 and 1115139, should have a strengthened load sensing valve bracket fitted.

• Operators of 75 and 85 Series Leyland Dais built in November/ December 1992 (ident numbers E395340-E399665) could find the spring brake inadvertently operating. This is the result of incorrect fitting of air piping to the warning light and all affected vehicles should be checked.

• Mercedes-Benz 2421/2422s built before the end of 1991 could have problems with the propshaft fouling a pipe to the load sensing valve. Affected 2421 have belmuster numbers 619 138 25 or 619 037 25 or 619 038 25. The 2422s have belmuster numbers 653 138 25 or 653 037 25 or 653 038 25. All the vehicles concerned then have chassis numbers ending between 11691 7 and 939180. The remedy is to have the load sensing valve relocated.

• Mercedes-Benz 2433/2534s built between 1990 and 1992 could suffer from failure of the balance pipe between the twin fuel tanks. A modified pipe should be fitted in place of the suspect one.

• Dodge 50 Series 546/556 and 566 built between April 1989 and April 1990 (ident nos 222000223253) could be fitted with a park brake ratchet with insufficient tooth depth. A replacement ratchet and pawl should be fitted. This recall supersedes recall number R1992/017.

• Seddon Atkinson Strato 210s with vehicle idents before 90747 could suffer from the steering bracket working loose. The suspect vehicles, built between August 1992 and January 1993, should have the flanged nuts replaced with Hex Clevelok fastenings.

• Volvo FL6s with TD63E or 63E5 engines (ident nos 478364-491226 or 478364-100423) can suffer from vibration related failures of various fuel pipes. The remedy is modified pipework and fitting a support bracket.

• Some Volvo FL12s with the TDI 23E/ES engine have suffered instances of the rack control rod breaking and jamming at full throttle. These vehicles (with ident numbers 100017-101768, 372499

379240, 487778-495007, 903897-904562 and 375177379224) should have a new injection pump and attachments.

• Volvo Fl Os and FL1 Os with TD103E/ES engines (ident numbers F 1 0; 100005-101768, 366063379113 or 479513-494864: FL10; 366233-379209,902554-904596 or 920189-920349) also suffer from fuel pump rod failure. A replacement fuel pump is the cure.

Any vehicle covered by one of the above recalls should be taken to the nearest franchised dealer of the relevant marque. Repairs, replacements and modifications are usually carried out free of charge.
