Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Premiums for permanent health insurance are likely to keep rising in the short-term as insurers bring policies into line with claims experience. However, there are still ways to control costs:

More exclusions: insurers say it can be cheaper for policyholders to rule out some conditions rather than cover everything at a high premium. Although this gives only partial cover, it's better than no cover at all. Any occupation: policies which state that the disability in question must prevent the driver from following any occupation, rather than just their own occupation, should be cheaper. Some policies start with "own" occupation and move to "any" occupation after a lwoyear incapacity period.

Guaranteed rate: Fixed payment policies, although less common nowadays, can bring benefits. Premiums cannot be adjusted by the insurer.
