• CRD Sparshatt of Andover has launched a range of low-height vehicles based on the VW Transporter, Renault Traci Master, Peugeot Talbot Express/ Fiat Ducato/Citro6n C25 chassis-cabs. The chassis is removed behind the cab and a low-height frame is grafted on in its place, offered with single or tandem axles. Both are available with either rubber or electropneumatic air suspension.
The company is offering the chassis in three variants: a platform chassis; car transporter; and box van. All have a design GVW of 3,500kg for single axle chassis or 4,600k9 For tandem axle chassis.
The Autotransporter is only available with the tandem axle chassis. Features include an electro-hydraulic slide back and tilt platform body with standard electric winch for loading broken down or damaged vehicles. With crew-cab and seating for Four additional passengers, the vehicle can be used for rood rescue. CRD Sparshatt also manufactures a piggyback trailer which will enable a second car to be carried with a maximum GCW of 5,000kg.
The Utility Van is available with single or tandem axles, offering body volumes of either 16.6m3 or 19.4m3. The Floor height with standard size wheels and rubber suspension is 483mm or 406mm for the tandem axle chassis fitted with 12-inch wheels.
Standard options in the basic price include a rear door or roller shutter, smooth interior or tie rails and a GRP roof or alloy sheet. Interior lighting and tie-down eyes are also included, along with a loading ramp with 50kg capacity.
Body construction uses single sheet panels mounted on an alloy Frame for ease of maintenance and repair. Prices start at Cl 3,995 (ex-VAT) for the single-axle platform chassis and CRD Sparshatt expects to appoint dealers nationwide.
