• The Hauliers & Farmers Alliance denies it is bowing to outside pressure by postponing its national protest against fuel duty until after the publication of a report by a cross-party group of MPs.
HFA chairman Len Johnson was contacted by Road Haulage Association chairman John Bridge last week (CM 11-17 May) and asked whether he would hold fire on action until the Transport Select Committee's report on the haulage industry is published in late June or July.
