can be called upon to drive our breakdown vehicle ff necessary. Provided I do not drive at the wheel for more than 10 hours, am I exempt from the number of hours I spend on duty and also exempt from keeping driver's records?
ADrivers' hours are regulated by Part VI of the Transport Act 1968. Vehicles to which this part of the Act applies are passenger vehicles of a stated kind and goods vehicles. Since your company's breakdown vehicle is neither a passenger nor a goods vehicle, the drivers' hours regulations do not apply when you are driving it.
