Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

QNE of the problems being discussed by the provisional long-distance hauliers' committee of the Road Haulage Association is the definition of a long-distance operator. The proposal is that a long-distance haulier be defined as one primarily engaged on work beyond about 70 miles.

The committee also wish an officially appointed committee to be set up to deal with the interests of long-distance operators.

These questions were referred last week by the National Council to the National Executive, who will next meet on May 30.

There is no doubt that the proposals will be accepted. Area committees will then have to be set up. In fact some already exist, notably in the Yorkshire (Leeds) Area.
