Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

nALANCED tipping is employed in

the design of a new steel trailer recently introduced by the Low Loading Trailer Co., Ltd., Dean Street, Bedford. The vehicle is of all-steel construction, of 4f-cubic-yd. capacity, and is intended for the collection of waste paper, market refuse or waste food.

The floor is inclined towards the rear, so that the tendency is for the refuse to pack itself against the rear panel. To assist further in this direction, the body can be unpinned at the forward end and tilted backwards. If necessary, the rear panel can readily be removed when tipping so as to provide the largest possible area of discharge.

A step for two operators is attached to the towing framework. To facilitate manhandling when detached from the towing vehicle, the trailer can be supplied with a retractable rubbertyred jockey wheel. The floor is in 10-gauge mild steel, and the sides and front are panelled in 16-gauge mild steel, the structure being stiffened with angle steel. The detachable rear panel is in 20-gauge plate.

Each wheel is independently sprung, and the 12-in.-diameter brakes are operated by Bowdenex controls. There is a hand parking-brake which is connected to the automatic overrun brake, the latter being fitted with a friction damper to prevent hunting.

The towing structure is supplied for attachment to the S.D. double-end-tip refuse collector, as well as the S.D. Freighter.
