Bum Synthetic to be nUNA, the famous German Made in Western "synthetic rubber, is likely to Germany come into production again at

the LG. Farben Chemical Works in Western Germany. The Allies spared from dismantling only one of the eight plants there which had a total output of 40,000 tons a year, about one-third of Germany's war-time rubber needs. A larger works, with almost double that capacity, is now being operated in the Russian Zone. Short Supply of a WE have heard various Polish Causes Black " rumours of instances of Market black marketing in certain

commodities which are—to use the official jargon—in short supply. We were, however, surprised to learn that this is apparently extending even to vehicle polish, and it mustbe flattering to the maker of Autobrite that 5s. bottles of this are being sold at a figure as high as 7s. 6d. It is hoped that the increasing supply will overtake the shortage. In the meantime, traders are being asked by E. R. Howard, Ltd., to institute inquiries when attempts are made by individuals to buy excessive numbers of bottles at the proper price.
