• The North Eastern Traffic Commissioner has cut three months and two vehicles off Notts-based Fernwood Transport's licence when its transport director faced him over its drivers' behaviour.
DOT speed traps netted 19 Fernwood drivers and another Fernwood driver was jailed last year after a fatal crash on the M62 (CM18-25 February).
Transport director Richard Fowle agreed he failed to take 111111L .131 sufficient positive steps to deal with speeding but added speed limiters had been fitted to the whole fleet and introduced new disciplinary procedures.
For Fernwood, Ian Rothera said suspension of the drivers' licences led to a substantial loss of revenue.
Commissioner Keith Waterworth said Fernwood had been going through the motions when analysing tachograph charts. He told Fowle: "You must remind yourself that, as licence holder, the buck stops with you!' WatErworth also warned Fowle that his findings would be on his record.
