I wonder whose idea it was to turn Ford Transits into passion wagons?
There is a Transit running around the South East decorated American-style as a pw. Inside it carries model Janet Conway looking full of Eastern promise. A Ford executive is reported to have said: "Youngsters have great fun seeing how many girls can be squeezed into one van." I don't believe it. It's almost as way-out as the news this week that Toyota have again diversified. First the van, then the Land Cruiser now the home. Not the mobile home, but single-storey office blocks. Apparently, their expertise in steel-frame vehicle construction led them into house building. Fiendishly cunning.
