A DISCIPLINARY hearing into the affairs of a husband and wife partnership was adjourned by Mr Gerald Milner, Eastern deputy LA, at Norwich last week, when he decided he had the wrong partner before him.

The partnership of Mr S. R. and Mrs Evelyn M. Hawes of Eye, Suffolk, trading as Spencer Hawes, had appeared at public inquiry under Section 69 of the Transport Act in 1976 when no action was taken, The deputy LA stopped the case in the middle of evidence Oven by Mrs Hawes saying that it seemed to him that no one person was responsible for the fleet of four vehicles. Both Mr and Mrs Hawes claimed part responsibility while a mill foreman came into the picture as keeper of the records.
