Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ABUS strike bit Paisley on Saturday last, but ended after about six hours. Drivers and conductors employed by Young's Bus Service decided on strike action in support of the maintenance engineers at the company's Johnstone depot.

Because they were in favour of the demands granted by the arbitration court about six months ago, the maintenance men, numbering about 60, withdrew their labour on March 4. The dispute lingered until Friday last when, at a mass meeting of conductors and drivers in the company's employ, it was decided that there should be a stoppage in sympathy.

The following statement was given to our correspondent on Saturday last :— " Following the decision of some 300 traffic employees who withdrew their labour during the course of the dispute between the management and the

engineering staff, a conference was held in Paisley to-day. It was agreed that the wages scale for the -company's engineers should be governed by the decision for engineering workers employed in the transport industry. This scale would be determined nationally after consultation between the employers and the work-people's representatives. On this understanding, traffic and maintenance employees have resumed their duties."
