for the Mirror Group at Watford and Hebburn are facing redundancy from Sunday 5 July when TNT Newsfast and Eddie Stobart take over the newspaper distribution work.

Drivers at the Airdrie and Manchester depots have been told they will transfer under TUPE regulations to TNT Newsfast after 5 July; drivers at Bristol and Coventry will transfer to Eddie Stobart under TUPE on the same date. However, drivers at Watford and Hebburn will not be covered by TUPE.

Exel Logistics says "every effort will be made to find them alternative employment" before the end of Exel's contract on 30 June. But if this fails the drivers will be made redundant on 5 July. • See letters, page 31.
