• The acquisition of Gavis Traffic Services Ltd by NCC Plant and Transport Ltd, a member of the Rexco Group and subsidiary of National Carbonising Co Ltd, has been finalized. The consideration was on a cash plus shares basis.
Gavis Traffic Services is one of the largest clearing houses and specializes in bulk movements by tipping vehicles.
NCC Plant and Transport operates a large fleet of bulk tippers from the Midlands, with container services running between Nottingham and Landoll; in addition the company runs a number of flat vehicles equipped with craneage.
Both companies will operate from Lodestar House, Watts Grove, Bow, London E3. Mr R. Setchfield will be the new traffic manager and Mr J. R. Hewis remains managing director.
