• Eaton, Yale and Towne (UK) Ltd has completed a 62,000 sq ft extension to its transmission division plant in Manchester. This additional space is contained in a new multi-spanned building flanking M61, and will be used for the assembly and testing of truck and agricultural gearboxes. The total area of the factory now exceeds 196,000 sq ft.
The increasing demand for the RT610 10-speed twin-countershaft Roadranger transmission now being built for the heavier gvw vehicles, and the RT900 series to be introduced later this year, has necessitated this expansion programme.
