• The highways committee of Teesside Council last week approved plans for a new bus station in central Middlesbrough which includes 25 stands in the station besides 25 bus parking spaces with alighting platforms. Other facilities include inspection pits for minor repairs, car parking spaces, shops and a travel agency. Both United and Teesside Corporation buses would use the new station and a joint sub-committee is now to be set up to study the proposals.
