• The Scottish division of the Freight Transport Association is to ask Edinburgh Corporation to rescind section "477 of the Corporation Order 1967 which bans parking in any street in the Scottish capital "at any time". The FTA is concerned that there are inadequate parking facilities in the city. Prosecutions for overnight parking in Edinburgh have been increasing recently. The new enforcement results from parking in London Road but the FTA fears that the powers to prosecute will be extended to all of the other city streets and thus force drivers to leave their vehicles at the Greenside car park where they have been experiencing heavy vandalism.
