Where to Buy your Supplies.

Hand-operated Elevating Trucks.

Trucks which enable time to be saved in the transporting of material. and component parts which are in process, of completion will at once appeal to the chassis builder and others. In the ordinary way the parts are separately lifted into the usual Creek or barrow and taken to their destinations, where they

are again lifted by hand, involving a considerable waste of time, This class of labour is, of course, not a highly-paid one, but at the same time the accountlated cost would soon reach a high figure.

A most .efficient form of truck and one which is a time-saver is the National-Chapman manufactured by C. W. Burton Griffiths and Co., Ludgate Square, Ludgate Hill, London, E.C.

The principle on which the Chapman trnek operates is as follows: The strongly-constructed wooden platform on which the articles to be transported are placed is dropped on to a wrought. steel frame, which is so mounted that upon raising the handle the trunk proper can be drawn from under its load, with the minimum of delay, whereupon the truck is ready to receive another load. Thus there is no time wasted in removing the material by hand, as with the usual form of truck or barrow.

There is a hydraulic check incorporated which controls the lowering and raising of the handle, and consequently there is no shock or jar transmitted to the load.

Any class of platform can be fitted to suit individual -requirement& The truck is built on substantial line", and the wheels are mounted on self-lubricating Hyatt roller bearings. Our illustration clearly shows the stout construction of the Chapman truck.

We understand from the makers that. these trucks are being used to good purpose throughout many engineering and other concerns in this country.

Hyatt Roller Bearings.

Following the increasing use of American machines in this country Broom and Wade, Ltd., High Wycombe, Bucks., has established a service department for the prompt supply of Hyatt roller bearings, which are now being extensively utilized in the manufacture of such machines.

Upon receipt of the necessary particulars, any size or type of Hyatt bearing will be immediately d!spatched, as Broom and Wade, Ltd., hold a very coma prehensive stock of this speciality.

In additien to bearings for the automobile industry, the concern are also in a position to supply Hyatt roller bearings for lino shafting and general engineer-. ing purposes.

M. and M. Vulcanized Fibre.

The 40 years experience in the manufacture of vulcanised fibre by Mosses and Mitchell, Chiswell Works,_ 122-124, Golden Lane, London, laces this firm in the foremost position as regaras E.G.,le production of this class of material.

In the year 1873 this firm first placed their vulcanized fibre on the European market, and from that time there has been a consistent and ever-growing demand for the product ; it is now very ,extensively used throughout the electrical, mechanical and kindred industries.

The fibre is made in two qualities, hard and flexible, each having a number of uses.

The hard grade is exceedingly strong, and is capable of resisting very high compression, and at the same time retaining its elastic qualities. It can readily be turned, drilled, riveted, punched, and screwed with a clean, strong thread, and it takes a fine polish. It is manufactured in sheet and tube form, from which almost any shape can be produced;

The flexible material is specially treated during the process of manufacture and closely resembles leather. This variety is only made in sheets. It is particularly suitable for hot and cold water-joints, packings and washers, as it is insoluble and uninjured by water, oil and grease.

The two varieties of hard vulcanized-fibre sheets are made in 'various colours and thelnesses.
