Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AS I sipped a case of champagne on DAF Trucks' motor cruiser at the Henley Royal Regatta I recalled a provincial newspaper report of the Oxford and Cambridge boatrace. It said: "They shot under Hammersmith Bridge, their ears scooping away the water in unison."

The only ears that I saw scooping water at Henley were those of a disreputable-looking drunk who swam fully clothed across the Thames.

When last seen, the police were helping him — but whether with inquiries, I couldn't say.
