N application by Cumbria ounty Council for a shared ire-car service to operate in art of the county has been aproved by Transport Secretary orman Fowler.
An order designating the arishes of Sellbergh, Dent and arsdale as an Experimental rea has been laid before Parament and the service will start iter this summer.
People wishing to travel any/here within the three parishes, r to a number of specified destiations outside them — includig Kendal and Oxenholme staon — will be able to pre-book a eat in a hire-car service and hare the cost with others.
Operators participating in the cheme will be able to advertise re-booked journeys with spare eats, and the scheme will last ritially for two years.
