lkfiR. H. R. FEATHERSTONE., national LV.I. secretary of Traders' Road Transport Association, speaking at Reading on Tuesday, forecast that the new speed limit of 40 m.p.h. for goods vehicles Was likely to come into operation within the next few weeks. .
He was talking on the Road, Traffic Act, 1962, to members of the T.R.T.A.'s Thames Valley Area, and in referring to What he termed "the controversial automatic disqualification provision ", said the operation of this was contingent upon a complete review of speed limits as speeding was one of the offences counting towards disqualification.
This review had been going on and it could be expected that the introduction of the disqualification provisions would not be long delayed. Mr. Featherstone stressed the importance of both drivers and employers fully
understanding the effects of this section
when it became law.
