Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IN addition to its aluminium solder,

Soldalum 121 Industrial (Metallurgical) Services, 138 High Street, Waltham Cross, Herts, has developed Brazalum 365 and Weldalum 601 for use in joining aluminium parts. Brazalum 365 is said by the maker to represent the greatest advance. Joints made with it are claimed to be as strong as if welded and stronger than aluminium itself, but it performs at a temperature close to that of solder-370° C., compared to 325° C. for Soldalurn 121. It can also be used to join aluminium to iron, stainless steel, nickel, copper and brass. Weldalum 601 is a low-melting point welding rod and joints made with it arc said to be equally strong, quite flexible and to have high resistance to corrosion.

Basic price of Brazalum 365 is 15s. per lb. The flux for it—No. 215—is available in two sizes of jar at 6s. 6d. and 12s. 6d. Weldalum 601 has a basic price of 15s. per lb. also, but two types of flux can be used. These are No. 6011 and No. 6033. Two sizes of jar are offered for each, costing 6s. 6d. and 12s. 6d. and 8s. and 15s. respectively. Trial packs of the new products (with flux) can be obtained at 18s. 6d. each.
