THIS week there are substantial appIications concerning car transporters, tankers and vehicles for furniture haulage.
In the East Midlands, Progressive Deliveries Ltd., of Coventry, has applied for a new B licence for 20 vehicles and trailers to carry cars and light commercial vehicles "as required ".
A large transfer request to switch from B licence to A licence comes from Brewer and Turnbull (Greenup) Ltd., of Hazel Grove. It involves 10 vehicles to carry general goods which includes furniture and effects of all classes and description. This appears in the North Western " As and Ds ".
Tyburn Road Tank Services Ltd., of High Wycombe, seeks authority from the Metropolitan L.A. to operate 11 vehicles for the carriage of bulk liquids within Great Britain under A licence. If granted, it will surrender contract A vehicles.
From the Northern publication, tipper operators will note the six tipper addition that C. Thompson (Coal Merchant and Hauliers) Ltd. seek to its R variation
it proposes to surrender C licences if successful.
Steel carriers in this area-particularly those operating from County Durham, will be interested in an application by P. G. Walton Ltd., of Gateshead, who seeks a total of five vehicles to carry goods for Consett Iron Co. "as required and return loads".
