a 55° angle of Itip, has been fitted to a B.M.C. 7-ton 12-ft. 6-in, wheelbase chassis and cab. Manufactured by the Spenborough Engineering Co., Ltd., Valley Works, Union Road, Heckmondwike, Yorkshire, the Model EP,8I tipping gear incorporates triple telescopic rams which do not protrude above cab height when lowered. Hydraulic power is provided by a Spenborough swash-plate pump and power-take-off unit on the gearbox, with the controls inside the cab.

The bodywork has been specially constructed for transporting lime and the high angle of tip has been provided to allow backing up a ramp to discharge the load. The unladen weight of the vehicle is 3 tons 19 cwt.

Specially designed bodywork up to 14 ft. 6 in. long by 7 ft. 3 in. wide, with depths of sides arranged to suit the customer's requirements, is available for a wide variety of applications. For long-wheelbase tipping vehicles the use of a stabilizer, to control the sideways movement of the body during tipping and to maintain alignment with the chassis frame, is recommended.

Suitable for loads up to 8 tons, the Spenborough V-type stabilizer consists of two steel arms which are anchored to the chassis frame at one end and are joined together at the other to form an inverted V. The apex of the V runs in a grooved slide attached to the underside of the body.
