Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Last week Commercial Motor urged truck operators to stand up and make sure your voices are heard over fuel tax—not least at the Mass Haulage Lobby of Parliament. Remember? Meet at the Great Hall, Methodist Central Hall, Westminster at 13:oohrs on Wednesday 24 . February. This week we're giving you the chance to make sure your voice is heard through our CM/RHA Fuel Tax Fax! Before next month's Budget you can let your own MP know exactly what you think of Gordon Brown's fuel tax escalator. It's simple. On page io you'll find a proforma letter protesting about the devastating increases in diesel fuel tax and their impact on British operators. All you have to do is fill out your company's details on the form and sign it—then look in the following pages for the fax number of your local MP and send off your protest NOW!

You'd think that in a democracy like ours it would be easy to get together a list of fax numbers of the nation's MPs, wouldn't you? They are the servants of the people. Supposedly. In fact both Commercial Motor and the RHA had to fight like blazes to get them. We wonder why... If you're one of the hauliers whose MP or political party DIDN'T want us to have their number, don't worry. You can STILL send your Fuel Tax Fax to Commercial Motor on 0n81 652 8969 and WE'LL deliver it for you during the rally on the 24th!

Don't let it be said that when it came to defending your industry you were too busy to fill out a form and fax it. The CM/RHA Fuel Tax Fax is for you. PLEASE USE IT!

And don't forget the 24th—we'll be looking out for you.
