Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AN aid to systematic and effective maintenance was announced by Gulf Oil (Great Britain) Ltd. on Monday. The scheme comprises a number of simple forms and a wall chart: these are designed to facilitate the task of the smaller commercial vehicle operator in keeping a proper, comprehensive check on the condition of every vehicle in his fleet. All forms are to be supplied free of charge.

The nucleus of the "Gulf trouble-free maintenance plan" is a work order/repair record form: this is supplied in two versions, one for light vehicles, the other for heavy-duty commercials. Basically similar, they are split into four classes of maintenance service; small boxes are lined up against individual maintenance items under two headings "OK" and "Repair"---ticks are placed in these boxes to indicate to a mechanic what work needs to be done.

A useful aspect of this plan is a driver's check list and report of vehicle condition. The part of this form intended for the driver's use sets out a list of checks to be made before a trip—and further checks to be made when a trip is completed. The other part of this form is laid out to receive a "mechanic's report of corrective action".

A fleet status wall chart is intended to show at a glance the current maintenance position of every vehicle in a fleet. It will indicate service intervals established for each class of service and the mileage at which the next service is due.

Vehicle maintenance record stiff folders are intended to be used as a file for individual vehicles—this file is ruled up to receive full servicing details of a vehicle and should contain all papers relating to its maintenance.

Also included in the plan are lubrication charts for all types of commercial vehicles and a booklet containing general information on vehicle maintenance entitled "Trouble Free Maintenance Guide".
