Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IN LAST WEEK'S edition we wrongly reported that DHL drivers had been awarded a sum of compensation by an employment tribunal.

In fact URTU approached DHL seeking a compromise on the first day of the hearing, resulting in an out-of-court settlement of 0.000 on behalf of only 12 URTU members This compromise was made on a purely commercial basis, without any admission as to liability at a fraction of the original £120,000 claim.

DHL confirms that it is a responsible employer, which commenced the consultation with affected drivers, unions and elected representatives in July 2007, making it clear that TUPE applied.

As soon as DHL had any information about the proposed TUPE transfer, it was provided to LTRTU and to the affected employees without delay.

CM is happy to set the record straight and regrets any confusion caused.
