THE wage claim on behalf of 58,000 municipal bus workers, which was to have been presented in London last week, will not now be submitted until January 14, Representatives of the Transport and General Workers' Union, the National Union of Municipal and General Workers and the local authorities, spent a whole day negotiating.

When the item concerned with wages was reached, it was discovered that the employers' representatives could net raise a quorum, and the Matter could therefore not be discussed.

TAUNTON COMPANY ACQUIRED 1"I-IE controlling interest of the I Taunton Motor Co., Ltd., has been acquired by Steels Garages, Ltd., who operate a chain of garages in the West Country. Mr. P. M. Mossman, who has been associated with the company since 1926, has retired from the board.

The board of the Taunton company will be joined by Mr. C. E. IT. Saunders, Mr. P. G. Collop and Mr. J. Stanilancl, who also becomes general manager.
