THE North Western, Traffic Contmissioners on Tuesday sanctioned the operation of joint express services from Blackpool, Blackburn, Colne and Keswick to London via the Ml. The applicants were Yelloway Motor Services, Ltd., Scout Motor Services, Ltd., W. C. Standerwick, Ltd., and Ribble Motor Services,. Ltd.

It was stated that the use of the motorway would cut 2 hours 10 minutes off the journey. The railways had been assured that only 'Gay Hostess 50-seaters would be employed where double-deckers Were required.

The grant was subject to agreement by the Commissioners in other areas concerned. Because the railways' objections had been met, the hearing was soon over although three days had been allotted for it. '

IT is understood that the Rootes Group I have been approached by the German B.M.W. concern about a possible share by the British company in a reorganiza tion of B.M.W. Action has been put off by B.M.W. on a proposal to collaborate with the Daimler-Benz undertaking. Rootes are said to have shown interest B.M.W.in for several months, but have not yet had an opportunity to see the German works,
